A Real Parent's Story

My snake-phobic wife held a python

My wife has been terrified of snakes her entire life. The staff let her hold a baby python during a talk. She cried. Happy tears.

We went for the kids but the reptile park converted my wife. The keeper talks are genuinely educational — not the usual 'snakes are scary' nonsense. They explained how docile the pythons are, how they 'smell' with their tongues, and how they make incredible escape artists. By the end, my wife was holding a snake around her neck. The kids were more jealous than scared. We now have a pet bearded dragon named after the park.
