Preschooler-Friendly (Ages 4-5) Activities in Kyoto

Visit the bamboo grove on the way back — it's 10 minutes downhill and much less crowded in the early mornings.

Go at 6am or after 8pm — the main path is shoulder-to-shoulder during peak hours (10am-4pm) and small kids get lost in the crowd.

The ninja show is the main event — arrive 20 minutes early to get front-row seats where kids can see the smoke bombs and sword fights.
